Visual & Performing Arts

Students in this pathway are encouraged to pursue their artistic passion in the Visual and/or Performing Arts as they deepen their understanding of how the Arts transform communities. With a curricular emphasis on design, creativity, student voice, and analysis and critique, students channel their passion into their school projects.   • 12th Grade: Write, Camera, Action: Storytelling Through Your Lens

 

Careers, College & Community

Students in this pathway explore careers that bring communities together, spark creativity and innovation, strengthen the economy, and have social impact such as: photography, commercial and environmental design, medical Illustration, game or interface design, artisan, craftsperson, art restoration, curator, museum educator, actor, director, playwright, publicist, stage manager, musician, conductor, manager, promoter, producer, and more. This pathway enjoys a rich collaboration with such partners as Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Laney College, American Conservatory Theatre, DeYoung Museum, Civic Design Studio, SFMOMA, and more.
